Really Wild Learning also run art and photography workshops for those wishing to further their skills. Director / Educational Officer Kim Insull has 14 years years teaching experience as a specialist art and photography teacher. Workshops involve meeting and viewing some truly breathtaking animals then working on a practical piece of work with specific learning outcomes.
School art workshops
Aboriginal art - Meet a range of Australian animals and explore aboriginal art. Discuss the relationship aboriginal people had with animals before producing your own aboriginal painting. Materials used include ready mix paint, brushes, and black sugar paper.
Rainforests - Learn about the french artist Henri Rousseau and how he visited tropical houses to study plants and animals before creating his famous jungle scenes. Meet some amazing animals that inhabit rainforests before drawing them from first-hand observation with plants to create your own amazing animal scene. Materials used include pencils, watercolour pain and pen.
Photography workshops
Macro photography and the natural world - This workshop is aimed at outside interest groups. Learn about the the techniques used by wildlife photographers before refining your own skills whilst having the opportunity to photograph a range of amazing animals.
