Classification - How do scientists group animals to study. Students get to meet animals and try to identify which classification group they would put them into. We also talk about the number of animals that are possibly yet to be discovered.
Evolution and natural selection - How have reptiles evolved in order to be successful over time. We explore Darwin's theory of natural selection and look at some adaptations that animals have that have allowed them to be successful.
Animal reproduction - How do a variety of animals produce young? Meet some pretty amazing animals and explore the similarities and differences between the way they reproduce. We also look at genetic outcome and how dominant and recessive genes combine and predictions made when exploring inherited traits.
Environmental change and its impact on wildlife - How does our impact on the environment affect habitats and the animals that live there? In this workshop we look at how the planet and wildlife has changed around the world and examine the issues facing the planet now. Students think about what can be done in the future to help wildlife and meet some animals that are really struggling in their natural habitat.
